Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness training is a mandatory requirement in Ontario and strongly recommended nationwide for all individuals in a supervisory or managerial role. Supervisors are legally responsible for the health and safety of the workers they oversee and must understand how to recognize hazards, implement controls, and enforce compliance with occupational health and safety laws.
This course equips supervisors with the foundational knowledge required to fulfill their responsibilities under the OHSA and associated regulations. It introduces the legal duties of supervisors, worker rights, communication strategies, and enforcement tools necessary to maintain a safe workplace.
Key topics include:
– OHSA legal framework and the Internal Responsibility System (IRS)
– Supervisor duties and enforcement responsibilities
– Identifying hazards and conducting inspections
– Investigating incidents and enforcing corrective actions
– Worker rights: to know, to participate, to refuse
– Leading by example and promoting a safety culture
This training is essential for new and experienced supervisors in construction, manufacturing, retail, logistics, and service sectors. A certificate of completion is provided to support regulatory and internal HR documentation.
