This course aligns with provincial fire codes, the National Fire Code of Canada, and OHSA emergency planning requirements.
The course is designed to raise awareness of fire prevention strategies and response techniques in both high-risk and low-risk environments. Through this training, workers learn how fires start, how to extinguish small fires, and how to react appropriately during a fire emergency.
Topics include:
– Fire triangle and types of fire (Class A–K)
– Workplace ignition sources and flammable materials
– Use and limitations of fire extinguishers (PASS method)
– Fire alarms, evacuation plans, and muster points
– Roles of fire wardens and emergency coordinators
– Prevention strategies and good housekeeping practices
This course is suitable for employees in offices, warehouses, retail environments, factories, and healthcare facilities. Upon successful completion of the final quiz, learners receive a certificate confirming fire safety awareness.
