Under OHSA and CSA standards, employers are required to provide PPE and ensure workers are trained in its selection, use, and maintenance.
This course introduces the types of PPE commonly used in Canadian workplaces, including eye protection, hearing protection, respiratory gear, protective clothing, gloves, and safety footwear. The training also explains how to inspect, wear, store, and replace PPE effectively.
Topics include:
– Employer and worker responsibilities under OHSA
– PPE hazard assessment and selection
– Donning and doffing procedures
– Limitations of PPE and common misuse
– Cleaning, maintenance, and disposal of PPE
– Fit-testing and seal-checking (for respirators)
This awareness-level course is ideal for construction, maintenance, healthcare, manufacturing, and warehouse workers. A certificate of completion is provided upon passing the final quiz, making this training suitable for onboarding, annual refreshers, and audit documentation.
